Founded in 1965, George Washington High School competes in Class AAAA basketball as part of the Mountain State Athletic Conference (MSAC). The Patriots have won 4 State Championships, 5 State Runner-Up finishes, 9 MSAC titles, 2 Player of the Year award winners, and produced 22 1st Team All-State players. Under head coach Rick Greene, the program continues its tradition of excellence, developing athletes who go on to compete at the collegiate level, including NCAA Division I programs.

The Next Level
Over the years, a large number of George Washington High School basketball alumni have continued their careers at the collegiate, international, and professional levels. Many have gone on to compete with respected programs across the country and abroad, including but not limited to:
